Jerome Bettis rushed for 106 yards on 27 carries against Oakland to becomes the Steelers' first 100 yard rusher of the season. Bettis helped the Steelers to only their fifth win of the season as they recorded a 27-7 victory. Bettis moved passed Thurman Thomas into ninth place on the NFL's all time rusher list.

"It is an honour to be in the same area with Franco Harris," said Bettis as he moved to within five yards of the Steelers' great back of the seventies.
