PETE'S FIFTEEN MINUTES OF FAME - IN NEW YORK

2003 index
Pete, making his, "and another thing Mr. President..." statement to the world.

Pete went into a fire house to see about swapping a Hampshire Fire Brigade shirt with a New York fireman's one while I stood outside and waited. I noticed these guys hanging around the street corner, armed with a video camera and searching out New Yorkers for some reason.

When Pete came back onto the street, he was unaware of the camera crew until I attracted their attention and they told me they were recording anti-Bush statements. I, being non-political, push Pete to the fore and say, "Here's your man." They told Pete that it was for an anti-Bush web site they were setting up .

When Pete made his statement wearing England's national soccer shirt, he was an instant hit with them. An international addition for their views. It only took three takes with a little tuition on emphasis and it was straight into signing a disclaimer. Well, Pete did say that we didn't like the gun toting' President over in England either.
